I had the opportunities to have a look at this famous hotel – Hard Rock Hotel Penang on the 2nd day of Raya, but due to my blurness of not bringing DSLR to wherever I go, no pictures were taken that day. *wuuwuu*
LUCKILY, I have the chance to visit them again last Friday! *wheee*
The ‘laugh-die-me’ gang planned to have a ‘GIRLS NIGHT OUT’ at Hard Rock Cafe on Friday and I decided to join them! We’re supposed to meet up at 10, but due to some unforeseen circumstances we reached there at about 10.30 pm.

I was so excited to be there, but not as excited as the first time when I walked in.The hotel looks simple from outside, the coconut trees decorating the ‘tak-cukup-bays-punya-car-park‘ – giving me the oasis feel.
Upon walking into the hotel, the changeable colour neon lights bearing the name greeted us. I could say that is the most photographed place or should I say thing in the hotel. Why? Because every Tom, ah Beng, Abu, Muthusamy will be snapping this – either using camera or hp.

Can you spot a reflected logo on top? Hehe.
From the outer look, one could have just thought that hotel is like any other hotel we have, a normal lobby, normal reception place, normal cafe, etc2. But we were proven VERY wrong.
Imagine you walking to the reception counter and a bar at the same time!

Yes, you can order a drink while waiting/checking in. Cool isn’t it?
If that’s cool, how about a lobby with comfy long sofas for projector showing MVs, tables and chairs to play scrabbles and backgammons?

Looks inviting right?
The best thing you can do there would be sitting at the round sofa like what I did (the sofa damn nice – I almost doze off) and….

stare into the biggest pool in Penang! Hoho!

Too bad we were checking out the hotel at 1 in the morning. If not, a live band would be playing and singing in the lobby daily to the guests there. Jugglers and entertainers would be doing something entertaining to the guests.
How I know about these?
Because I saw them during my first visit with my family members. XD
What I love about the hotel is their creative and artistic ways of exhibiting artworks!

They just put on the artworks on canvas stand and on floor and voilà - an art gallery! And that includes the belt Q-up stands too! XD
To show more of their creative side, they put in mannequins dressed in the Elvis Presley type of suit behind the glass panes for the guests to admire them! As for the empty wall behind the mannequins, music records, musical instruments and photographs of rock-ish era are hung up.

Seems like HRH managements are into Beatles, because I saw them everywhereeeeee….
..at the entrance..

..near the lift area..

..beautifully done on the wall, next to the Starz diner.. i love this the most, so unique!

Who would have imagine making a gigantic flower pot for a big plant? HRH would. And it’s soooo cute can! I want one for my home!

Unfortunately, I’m unable to show you the room as I didn’t stay a night there. Very very broke now and having a night there at HRH would be like a suicidal case to my wallet! Btw, they’re having a opening promo at RM368++ on weekdays until 18th December. So anyone wanna sponsor me Rm300? Hehe!
A visit wouldn’t be complete without visiting the toilet.

However, the toilet is kinda disappointing. First, it’s dirty. I understand it’s 1 something in the morning, BUT it shouldn’t be an excuse for such a luxury hotel. Second, few of the cubicle’s door couldn’t latch properly! My friend was in toilet and a girl (thinking that the cubicle was empty) managed to knock the door open! Luckily she’s already done doing whatever she’s doing. Third, the toilet smells weird. Don’t ask me why. Lol!
But I’m pretty sure the toilet is not like that during daylight – I hope I’m right in saying so. Haha!
That’s all I can write about HRH. I think I’ve covered most of the part in the hotel, except for the pool. We were prohibited from going to the pool. So it’s kinda potong stim as I believe the pictures taken from there and at there would be nice. *wuuwuu*
… and no, I didn’t take picture with the famous guitar cz I’m lazy. Haha!
Next post : Girls Night Out at Hard Rock Cafe!
That’s it! It’s confirmed! The sandy beaches! Crystal clear sea! Islands hopping! Snorkelling!
Omg! I’m super excited about it!!!
Now, I shall save money and wait for the day to come! *wheeeeeeee*

Finally, it’s Cambodia Hour! Yay!
Been dying to blog bout this, just that I didn’t have the time to edit pictures and blog bout them.
*sigh*
However, I’ve decided to blog real short. I’ll just say that 5 of us, Leemay, me, Kurubee, Ailing and Emily boarded the earliest flight to LCC Terminal to meet up with the rest (Aaron and William) before boarding the afternoon flight to Phnom Penh, Cambodia and we had fun in Cambodia.
The end.
Haha!
Nah, you wish it’s short. This will be a super long one.
MUAHAHAHA!
The journey to Phnom Penh took about 2 hours. The plane was full of our local people, their local people and some of the non-local people. Confusing? Nevermind if you don’t understand. Haha. I remembered that during the flight there was a strong ‘ikan masin’ stench that bothered us till Emily suddenly complained bout it quite loud in Hokkien.
Luckily their local people doesn’t understand Hokkien. Haha!
And no, the stench didn’t go away. -.-”

Probably I should go back there – or go to Perhentian. I want island vacation. Deprieved of one. T.T
Anyway, now back to my Redang post part II – let us see more pictures of Redang. Maybe seeing them back could make you guys feel like going there again with me ler. *shifty look*

Ops. Wrong picture. Haha. That’s Daniel pointing to Shoutout logo drawn by Lasker. Well, they’re trying to promote Shoutout there – but they didn’t leave behind the url, how can people join wor. Hmm.
Anyway, today I shall bring you to another part of the island.

From our resort, we walked towards nearly end of the beach, past a 100m of lalang field, balanced ourselves for a stretch of uneven stone-y and dead corals bay, climbed up few big stones, skipped to avoid a small river of waste water while pinching our nose and finally another 100m of tar road to reach this popular beach – the Long Beach. (If not mistaken, ppl called that Long Beach lar. Lmao)

It was definitely worth going all those to reach here since it was more happening here, especially night time. Probably because few popular resorts are located here, like the Laguna Redang Resort.

Plus the colourful iconic house, More More Tea Inn – popularised by the movie Summer Holiday, is situated here too. Well, the More More Tea Inn is not an inn, but a two storey gift shop.

and not forgetting the most-photographed-thing-in-Redang, the headless woodboard. Lol!

Not enough for all the guys I guess. They had to take turns. Lol!
It was fun hanging out there. You can just wear your sunnies and just observing people like what Wendy did.

Or just snipe at pretty bikini girl.. *phew-witttt*

or jump around with a bunch of crazy people like what they did here. Lol!

Or just soaked ur feets onto the cold sand.

(Argh! All those really made me miss my island vacation alot! T.T )
We made several trips back and fro between our resort and Long Beach. We even went at night! But that was only once, and we spotted a rather reddish moon. Or was it purplish? I can’t remember. Lol!
Our vacation was so freaking relaxing (goodness, the hammock lying thingy was so blardy nice! – i forgot to add in earlier) that almost everyone was so reluctant to head home. We went for 4 days 3 nights; a day longer than my previous Redang trip, but it was nicer! The last time I went, I didn’t have enough of Redang and therefore I decided to go back there again in 2008. But now, I guess I shall put Redang aside and start looking for the possible islands to go. Like Perhentian, Phi Phi, Phuket or even Krabi. Hehehe!
When I mentioned Redang, he gave a response that I didn’t expect at all. This was what he said,
ah b haven’t wrote about redang ????
walau
that’s the time i was trying to kau ah b
ahaahahaahahahahahahaha
Cis! That donkeih always tease me, always luan luan crap things to kacau me. Hmph!
After teasing me, he asked me to decide it myself (potongstim nyerrrr). And since I got umph to write bout beach-y thingy, I chose Redang! Haha.
Redang trip 2008 members comprised of two groups departing from 2 states of Malaysia – Penang and KL. Coming from Penang were Lasker and his lovely wife, Elise, the lovebirds – Hugo and Wendy, LeeMay and me. From KL were Satkuru, Aaron, William, Daniel, David and Lisa. Both groups boarded night buses and reached Kuala Terengganu bus terminal early in the morning. When the sky still dark.

We started our journey on 19th of June, and headed to Redang Island with this speed boat on the beautiful sunny morning of 20th of June, 2008.

The whole journey was a total madness! Due to big sea waves, the boat was practically ‘hopping’ through the waves and when we reached the island, our butts felt as tho we’ve just sat on the Osim iGallop. Hahaha.
However, the whole butt-pain journey was really worth taking after seeing the white sandy beaches and the clear blue water and the lovely blue sky~

We stayed at Redang Kalong Resort which I think the resort caters more for the divers than snorkellers. I guess this resort is popular with divers, sort of divers’ meet up point! Lol!
Well, it’s not a bad thing, since the resort is quite secluded and away from the noisy popular Long Beach and human population (Lol), I got to relax and bask my skin under the partially sheltered sun (after applying the sun screen ofcz). Haha.

Besides, what else can we do apart from snorkelling (and diving for the divers with licence) and making sand castles? (Argh we forgotten to do that! T.T)

What? Seeing sea creature? You mean this (see picture below) We spotted abundant there!
That’s David’s palm btw. Lol!

It was soooooo slimmmmmyyyy! If not mistaken, one of us – not me! (can’t recall who) squeezed the poor fellow and water gushed out from its err.. hole?
I’ve been to Redang in 2007, but how can I say NO to this breathtaking place?!

Moreover, I knew that my Redang trip 2008 will be a blast! Well, it was kinda proven true since we have two crazy jumpers jumping off the boat almost each time we went out to the ‘open sea’ for snorkelling.
Here’s Aaron’s famous kungfu jump!

And William’s ops-I-terjatuh jump. Lmao.

(Mr. Leong, don’t keeeel me.. *runzzz and hidezz)
Also, we have with us, Hugo – a real injury prone person yet couldn’t resist himself from posing each time he had injuries!

I’d say almost every snorkelling trip we took pictures – before, during and after the dip. That explained the wet look on these guys’ faces. Lolololol~

And we ended almost every snorkel trip with the group picture.

Oh, I forgotten – the above picture is not the complete group photo. That’s only the snorkellers group photo. Lol! Lasker, Elise and Daniel were off to another boat for diving trip. You know, divers and snorkellers have different place to go; that’s why we got separated.

andddd… I shall continue more on this post another day. Probably 2-3 days later. Haha. Time to sleep now as I need to work tomorrow. T.T Before I jumped to my bed, let me end this post with two sunrise pictures taken with my Nikon S200 (I didn’t get my dslr yet that time). Must appreciate my sunrise pictures as I woke up damn early to take that picture okay! Haha.
Have fun viewing! Muahhhhhhh…

(Hmm.. somehow reminded me of Cambodia Angkor Wat sunrise.. T.T)
