Photos of graduation and convocation in Facebook wall trigger me to start writing about my convocation 2 years ago.
Convocation was one of the milestones in my life. I anticipated THE DAY so much – thinking of what shoes I should wear, what shirt I should wear, deliberating on to either wear a knee-length skirt or black slack, et cetera.
The eve of the convocation day, Satkuru even reminded me to double check all the stuffs I supposed to bring/need for the convocation but I told him I’ve placed them in my bag. He even asked me to double read the convocation letters from university, just in case I missed out any. Like usual, I told him not to worry as I’ve read them (but actually I just skimmed thru, rofl). He also asked me if I’ve wore the robe, just to get the hang of it – but I told him I’ve tried, so should be okay.
Obviously I got a nice music for being so cool-headed. He told me, “You only get to convo once in your lifetime. Or maybe another if you take master. But still, treasure it. Make sure you get everything right.”
I replied ok.
So, my parents and I flew to KL on the morning of THE DAY and reach KL at 9 in the morning. We were picked up by my sister where we were driven to Seri Kembangan for a brunch. After brunch, we immediately went to University of Malaya.
But the journey took slightly longer because my sister’s bf took the wrong turning. I was so anxious, but told myself to calm down and be patience.
Finally, we reach at about 11am. I quickly wore my robe and the mortar and took few photos outside the hall, with dad as my photographer of course. My mum was wondering why did my shawl always dropped sideway while other ppl’s was in placed and tidy. I told mum I didn’t know why, maybe my size is bigger - I told her. Haha!
Hello reality!
As stated in my FB status earlier, I’m now in the land of reality after being in dreamworld for 2 days. lolololol~
Yesterday was a BLAST! Unexpected happened – luckily able to settle it in time; rain did fall but THANK GOD it stopped just before we got out from the hall; and got to take pictures with lots friends! Thanks to those who came! You really made my day!
And the fun didn’t stop there. Met up with the gila KL gang after that; lots laughters and pictures taken; and we only willing to go back at 2 in the morning (after a midnight movie). Tiring, but fun!
I’ll try covering about yesterday in details, in few days time hopefully. Just wanna make a quick update and convey my thanks to those who gave me wonderful gifts. Yes, this post is specially dedicated to them.
THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU…………………………..

I’M OFFICIALLY GRADUATED!!!!! *Wheeeeeeee*
It’s Saturday! One of the anticipated Saturdays in August.
Why?
Because…

Today is my convocation day at University Malaya. Big day for me. ‘Poor’ case for some (*hints someone). Ahaks.
Hope everything goes well today, and I shall be looking forward to see *you there at 5.30 in the afternoon! Must come ya, wanna take pictures with y’all!
Since chance of wearing mortar board doesn’t come everyday (probably the chance will come again if I decide to take up Master), so I camwhored kao kao with it 2 days ago! As much as I want to camwhore in the graduation gown, I decided not to as the gown is heavy and stuffy. So, it’s just me and the mortor board.

Till then,

My lower right wisdom tooth had been giving me problems three times since last October.

The first time was so painful that I couldn’t sleep well for many nights. And B was so worried that he came all the way from cyber to pj to accompany me to see dentist in UM dentistry eventho he was quite busy with his study that time. *hugs B*
But then the receptionist for the student centre was very ‘rude’. When asked on the service – she just said, “baca ini” in a very harsh tone while pointing to the words pasted on glass panel. Apparently, students must call in the make appointment beforehand and could only walk-in at 8 or 9 in the morning (can’t recall) unless it’s emergency.
Of course I was angry – because I was losing sleep over this matter and I wasn’t happy with the way she conversed. So, I just walked out like that. B didn’t know what was happening as he was waiting outside; was shocked to see me walking out so angrily.

So, I sought treatment in one of the dental clinic in SS17 area. Without paying a single cents – because the dentist said my gum swelled and they couldn’t give me any medicine because I was allergic to the medicine they had. They told me to get the medicine from the nearby pharmacy and I did.
…. and just when I thought the nightmare was over, it came again in late Feb. I told B about the pain and B told me to get the tooth extracted. But I didn’t want to.
As I had returned to Penang that time, I went to the dental clinic that I patronised to seek advice. He told me the same thing as the dentist in SS17 told me, and advised me to return there after the swell disappears for extraction.
I never went back.
It was all okay – until 5 days ago, it happened again! Initially it was bearable… could bear with the pain until on Thursday it became so bad that I had to take in painkiller to stay focus on my work. And I was feeding on porridge that whole day.
Getting fedup with the pain, I decided that’s it. The tooth gotta go. I rang up my mum, asking her to make appointment with my dentist on Saturday morning to get rid of the problem.
On Friday, mum said that the nurse told her that my dentist planned to conduct this laser surgery on my gum before extracting my upper right wisdom tooth. I asked my mum why the upper instead of the lower – she said she didn’t know. Nevermind about that as I’ll know the answer next day. She told me that my appointment was scheduled to noon as they were fully booked in the morning.
Saturday came, and I was very anxious about the surgery. I dislike extracting any of my tooth due to bad childhood tooth extraction.

At around noon, I reluctantly drove myself there. There was 2 people waiting there when I reached and the nurse told me to take a seat first. Feeling nervous, I sms-ed B and played with my Itouchie. Then the nurse called my name. Bravely I walked into the room where dental chair was waiting for me.
My dentist walked in later and told me to sit comfortably on the dental chair before he took a look at my gum. He said my gum swell till very near my throat – and I told him that I had difficulty swallowing my saliva few days ago. He then took a picture of my gum, showing me how big my gum had swell and told me he was going to use the laser to cut my gum that partially covered my lower wisdom tooth. That gum swell due to the contact of the upper and the lower tooth when biting happened.
The laser machine was brought in from US. He said few dental clinics in KL but he’s the first in Northern. He assured me that the procedure wouldn’t cause any pain, bleeding or swelling-ness on the face after it ended. Compared to the normal procedure of cutting the gum up and sewing them back, he said the probability of having gum infection after surgery is totally minimised. I was very happy to hear that – especially the swelling part as I was afraid that I’ll look like ‘pig’s head’ for weeks!
The best thing is, after the laser surgery – I could eat like normal. No half-solid/liquid food. Yay!

Also, he told me that he wanted to take off my upper tooth because the upper one will grow longer and might cause pain in future. But I told him that I just want to laser the gum and hope that the upper tooth not causing any problem anymore. Haha!
After much explaining, he asked me to bite a cotton soaked with ‘i-don’t-know’what’ and started anesthetised the area 5 minutes later. He waited for the chemistry to work its magic. And the nurse walked in with a laser machine in her hands.
That’s when I started trembling.

With the right side of my mouth feeling numb, my gum was being ‘cut’ like a butcher cutting a cow. Lol!
Ok. I was exaggerating. But seriously, I smelt the ‘burning smell’ many many times while he did the laser thing. Gosh, I could even smell them now. @.@
Half an hour later – or I thought so, the whole deal ended. He took another picture of the gum to show the ‘hole’. And I could see my used-to-be-covered-tooth! Yay! I was very happy with the end result. He then applied ointment on the area before strictly warning me not to take anything in for an hour.
And I felt like a PIG’S HEAD after he finished lasering my gum! I told him that – but after he showed me mirror – I saw no bum! No pig’s head. But I felt as though it swell a lot! My dentist said it was due to the anesthetic. He assured me that the numb feeling be gone in 4-5 hours time.
I thanked the dentist, left the room, took my medicine, paid and left for home.
And I suffered the sore and the pig’s-head-feeling for 5 hours. ARGHHHHHH!!!!! I can’t talk properly. I can’t eat properly. I can’t swallow properly.

Luckily… 5 hours later, it was all okay – and I can eat like normal~~~

Now, I have to take good care of my ‘baby lower wisdom tooth’ so that no extraction will be made. Yay!
She explained about how to get rid of the dominated columns and rows and so on and suddenly, she walked towards us and started talking bout ponteng. (Very random right?) She said, she knew who’s ponteng-ing (playing truant), yada yada yada before startled us with this question,
“Who’s going to ponteng my Thursday’class?”
Ganas. Never in my life I encounter a lecturer asking his/her students this kinda question. Everyone was as speechless as I were. I think most of us tried to guess the real motive behind this question. I thought she’s using some physiological tricks to make us feel guilty if we happened to skip her class before.
She waited for our answer, but nobody dared to say anything nor raised up their hands. Those who planned to ponteng, obviously wouldn’t dare to voice out right. Who knows what punishment will fall on them if they say, “I am” or a simple “ME!”. LOL.
She looked at us, and then continued,
“Well if someone or everyone plans to ponteng, then I’m gonna cancel the class. If nobody’s going to ponteng, then we’re gonna have class like usual.”
Because she left only one chapter to cover (like 7-8 pages) and we still have like 3 weeks before the semester ends, she said she can afford to cancel this Thursday’s class. Whee~ So nice!
What’s our response then?
“PONTENG LAAAA”
I love my lecturer. So efficient and considerate (for knowing that we’re so tired and thus cancel the class. LOL)
