Audacious 2010

Posted Friday, December 31st, 2010

If you ask me to describe my 2010 year in a word, I would say – audacious!

The reason why I chose this word is because I realised some things I did this year, I did it out of fear. I boldly attempted stuffs; I didn’t think much about the consequences; I just do because I feel and want to. Here’s the stuff I remembered doing boldly, lol.

  • Burden myself with commitment by buying a car. (1/3 of salary goes to that, T_T )
  • Visited 4 countries this year and twice on Phuket itself, like wtfish! (Still, only spent less than RM5k overall for these 4 trips)
  • Went for cruise twice, !!!
  • Both parents met for the first time (and thankfully all went well, phew!)
  • Bought my own laptop, which I aim to change that to macbook pro/iMac 3 years later. :P
  • Finally OWN an iPhone4, which further damaged the hole in my pocket.
  • 1st oversea trip with my bee.
  • Book more trips for year 2011 (omg, more pokai moments T____T )
  • Went back to Incovar Camp, which I never thought I would.
  • Manage to keep my blog alive tho the amount of readers decreased drastically but who cares? LOL

In terms of health, I’m glad that my family and I don’t face any big issues in that matter. The health related problems that hit me were my already pulled out wisdom tooth and slight sore throat. I did sprain my ankle somewhere in August but luckily it was a minor injury too. :D

My 8 feet long wardrobe was so full of dust and fungus ‘motives’ that I decided to do a little spring cleaning in my room. Armed with mixture of detergent and Dettol, I wiped the whole wardrobe inside out sparkling clean and dust and fungus free! Whee!

Seeing the amount of clothes in my wardrobe, I decided to reduce them by taking out the clothes that I could not longer fit in and the ones that I won’t wear anymore. Took out few jeans, old and small size shirts and old dresses and put them aside…

..and that’s when my mum walked in.

inexperience

As I am writing this, it is already the 3rd day of 33rd IDC camp and Jack is conducting the Light and Easy session for half of the group in the activity hall. The rest is in dormitory hall – undergoes group sharing conducted by ChoonSin.

It’s been 2 years since I left IDC. The last camp I joined was the 28th camp (if I’m not mistaken) and I joined it as a participant. Today, I’m a facilitator for this camp. A rookie, lol. One thing great about being part of the committee members is to be able to see the behind-the-scene scenario, the petty arguments (lol) and the ‘selok-belok’ about running the camp. Mind you, it wasn’t easy running the camp. There’s so many things to do and taken care off – running up and down, helping out with the necessities in order to make the program run smoothly, ensure the participants are well-fed, taking note of their emotion/feeling/behaviour and… late nights meetings.

Regarding the late night meetings – NO, I’m not complaining. I was perceived and misunderstood as complainer when I casually told people that I was lacking sleep and hopes not to backlog them more. -.-”"”

Anyway, seeing from the side of the show-runners really interests me. I like being part of crew, preparing things/props for the next programs and so on. I do admit that I did miss my moments of being a participants, but being a faci gives me more freedom. Or I think so, Lol.

Oh well, as least I can type this post now. LOL.

A little history on IDC: Incovar Dhamma Camp is held twice a year for 4 days. The camp consists of dhamma talks, workshops and games, puja, and modern Buddhism music. There are 4 major themes for the IDC and if one attends the camps 4 times continuously, one will basically grab the fundamental understanding on Buddhism.

My birthday celebration started with buying a new shirt for Sat.

Interesting right? The cow appeared in faded Hard Rock T-shirt which I deeply disapproved, and thankfully he automatically walked to F.O.S outlet to get a new shirt without me barking much.

A quest for one decent shirt turned out to be two as he looks good in both shirts! So I got him one, since I didn’t really exactly get him a real birthday present on his birthday this year. ^^

Then we went for a movie, Grown Ups – where we both laughed until cry.

And a lunch at Sushi King.

Or was it the other way round? Yeah, I think it started with a sushi lunch first, and then a movie at GSC Gurney Plaza.
