i’m like a bird…

Posted Thursday, May 20th, 2010

I always wish that I’m a bird, so that I could fly up and see the ground from above. My wish was granted – not being a bird, but having the ability of looking things from a ‘bird view’; many thanks to the 2nd Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Festival.

You see, looking down from the plane window isn’t counted since sometimes you can see the ground, sometimes you can’t because of the clouds!

Haha. So the day earlier, I purposely boarded the night bus all the way to Kuala Lumpur after work and bunked at my sis’s place for that weekend. The next morning, Sat picked me up and went all the way to Putrajaya for this festival. Upon entering the prominent bridge of Putrajaya, I could see the big balloons like “Levi’s”, “Darth Vader” and so on which got me very excited on it.

Then I told Sat, I wanna take picture with Dark Vader’s head! which he gave me the usual, “luannnnn.

We spent almost an hour stuck in the jam in the car park area. The cars weren’t moving, people were honking and I seriously don’t understand why there’s only ONE entrance for going IN and OUT of the car park area? Can’t they foresee that MANY people would throng the area that weekend?

Obviously I was upset with the jam (I was pretty much calm earlier, but got fed up soon) is because the moment we parked our car, ALL THE NICE LOOKING BALLOONS WERE NO LONGER UP IN THE SKY! I was soooo disappointed as the main reason I insisted on coming to the Hot Air Balloon Fest is to take picture of those cute looking balloons. RWAR!

What’s down were already down. So we headed to the balloon ride area.

One of the night during Chinese New Year, my family and I happened to drop by a temple in Armenian Street. I rarely go praying around in island, so I don’t really know much about the temples there unless it’s the super famous and prominent ones – like Kek Lok Si and Kuan Yin Teng. But somehow fate brought us there that night.

Apparently Hock Teik Cheng Sin Temple is famous in giving ‘numbers’!

While dad prayed to the deities in the temples, I took the opportunity to take pictures of the surrounding using my Olympus miu! No, I didn’t bring my DSLR out that day. Lol.

Kek Lok Si in day and night

Posted Monday, April 12th, 2010

Last CNY, I went to Kek Lok Si twice! Once in the day, once at night!

I went on the hmm.. Can’t remember which day d – the 5th day if not mistaken. It was a sunny afternoon and I was practically sweating nonstop.

There were many people there; all decided to drop by Kek Lok Si during CNY because of the yellow and red lanterns hung all over the temple. Very nicely decorated. Hehe.

This was also when B decided to try tactics he read before long long time ago. He just never got the chance to try it (as he only wants me to be his guinea pig, huuhuu) so that’s part of the visit purposes. Haha.

Continuous from the previous post on Taiping…

Behold, this post contains non-halal! Lol!

Taiping trip is being close to nature – hence, a visit at this Indian temple,  Om Sakthi Sri Jada Muneesvarar Alayam.

Well the main reason why we visit this temple is to see and touch wild boars!

Touching a wild boar might be disgusting to you, but believe me there’s a VERY BIG REASON why people are touching and feeding them.

Taiping lake

Gosh, 5 more weeks to Indonesia trip. I seriously need to finish up my Cambodia Hour posts. I think still got alot to go. T.T

About 20 minutes later, we reached the town of Taiping. Pre-war buildings (built by the British) can still be seen in the town area. Like the one below, it’s well taken care of and turned into Taiping Tourist Information Centre.

Went straight to Taiping Lake since it was already 4 something in the afternoon. Decided to have a walk around the big ex-mining pool.
