Ask anyone on where to have dimsum and they’ll recommend you on the famous, high-class dim sum restaurant, Foh San. However, the people of Ipoh themselves would recommend on other restaurant like Ming Court or Yoke Fook Moon. Indecisive on which one to go, we decided to head to Yoke Fook Moon first, before going for Foh San. We wanted to go for the 3rd choice (Ming Court) but our stomach were beyond full after entering Foh San.

Cut all the crap, let me show you the dimsum from Foh San!

The siumai looked pale compared to the one I had in Yoke Fook Moon and Chaw Choon (the famous dimsum restaurant in Butterworth) but tastewise it’s almost the same. Same ingredient mah. Lol.

Mmm~ Delicious but somehow it’s a little bit salty for me. The dimsum I’m going to show you next are the more creative ones. The fried pancake with black pepper sauce and beehive lou mai kai (sticky glutinous rice with chicken wrapped with pao skin).

The 3 sauce chee-cheong fun is yummylicious! But one can’t eat this too much, or else will feel jelak. Go in big group where you can taste many types of dimsum in small serving. That way, the dimsum taste will be memorable and one somehow craved for it. Like how I crave for the honeydew glazed popiah. Lol

It was super packed that day. We had to wait more than 30 minutes for a table because everyone was taking their own sweet time drinking tea even after finishing all the dimsum. The worst thing is, the table we waited for more than 30 minutes almost being ’snatched’ by an aunty who only waited like 5 minutes there. Realising that the people at the next table ate quicker, that aunty suddenly moved to the back, turned her body and waited for that table instead. And the funny thing was, she suddenly talked to the people at that table and then sat on the empty chair like she knows them for ages. And that’s how she got a table for her family.

My sister and I were like wtfish!? New method of getting a place? Lol!

I took the picture after nom-noming halfway. Even at 11 something in the morning, people would still coming in. It made me wonder if they’re there for breakfast or brunch or lunch?

I especially love the dessert above. Cold, honeydew sauce glazed over popiah skin with chicken floss and cucumber filling. Mm~ I have the urge of having that again. T_T

Besides the sweet honeydew popiah savoury, we have two other desserts. Milk custard and fruit jelly.

By the time we finished up the jelly, everyone waved white flag and decided not to noms anymore. But since I’ve made a long list of must-eat, I told them no matter what, the food-hunt must ‘go’ on. Lol. Reluctantly they agreed and off we went to the next destination that I’ll feature in the next post.

It’s time to talk about food! Slurps.

Ahhh.. How I wish I’m still in KL, where I could with bunch of friends to Sri Petaling for dimsum eventho the dimsum there is nothing compare to the one I had in Ipoh few weeks ago. Haha!

The Ipoh Makan trip was a spontaneous one. It sparked off when my sis requested for dimsum that weekend. Since I got bored of the dimsum restaurant in the neighbourhood, I thought – why not go to Ipoh for dimsum?

And we did! We went to two places somemore! The first one is Yoke Fook Moon Restaurant.

We went in and soon plates and plates of dimsum were placed in front of us.

The dish below I would usually take at dimsum restaurant. However the skin is different from the one I ate in Penang, but it’s still taste the same. XD

This pastry I never tried before and I would have like them if they’re less salty. Don’t know why the stuffs in Ipoh are a bit salty. Hmm.

Our tea. A bit disappointed for not able to have our favourite tea, “Siao yek kan” (Small dry leaves). Next time must remember to bring own tea leaves d.

We didn’t eat much in Yoke Fook Moon as we were saving our tummies for other restaurant. But we drank a lot of tea as we mistakenly ordered tea for 5 people! =.=”

Gosh. Seeing all the pictures make me hungry now. Bad idea on writing about this at this hour. T_T

Time to make a cup of Milo before crawling to bed.

One of the night during Chinese New Year, my family and I happened to drop by a temple in Armenian Street. I rarely go praying around in island, so I don’t really know much about the temples there unless it’s the super famous and prominent ones – like Kek Lok Si and Kuan Yin Teng. But somehow fate brought us there that night.

Apparently Hock Teik Cheng Sin Temple is famous in giving ‘numbers’!

While dad prayed to the deities in the temples, I took the opportunity to take pictures of the surrounding using my Olympus miu! No, I didn’t bring my DSLR out that day. Lol.

I find the ‘axe’ super cute. Couldn’t stop taking picture of it. Hehe.

While taking pictures around, I overheard a man speaking quite loud in Cantonese to the lady who was kneeling in front of the altar; asking her to ‘ask’ the deity with sincere heart so that she could get 4 numbers from the deity. After she prayed, she shook a container full of bamboo sticks with numbers until one came out of the container. Then she threw 2 red crescent shaped die asking if that’s the number for her.

But she got both sides open up.

Seeing this, the man told her again, to truly believe in the deity and prayed with all her hearts before shaking the container. She did what he said, shook the container again and threw the die. This time, she got both sides facing down.

Mum was standing behind them, watching all this. In fact, there were few people watching this too – all wondering what was her doing. Mum told me, “Maybe the ang kong doesn’t know how to speak English (as the ladies were English-speaking) that’s why can’t provide numbers for them.”

I replied, “The deity sure got hire translator one mah.”

“If got translator, she early early got her 4 numbers d loh.”

As much as I wanted to try my luck in winning the Jackpot (that time everyone was eager in winning the Jackpot) by getting numbers from the deity, but from the rate of her getting the 4 numbers and with her another friend also waiting for her turn – I had to put off my intention. Haih.

As I turned around from where I stood, I spotted this transparent plane covering a hole with coins in it.

A closer look revealed that the floor of the temple are elevated about half feet higher than the original tiles.

We then we went the stairs to the first level after asking the caretaker about it. We had to take off our shoes before going up.

The place is refurbished and the carvings on the doors and walls were painted with new coat of paint, making them look bright and new! As I walked around taking pictures, I noticed something different with the neighbours’ houses.

They have back doors on first level! I wondered why they have such designs – another escape in term of emergency? Hmm.

There’s nothing much to explore on the first level, therefore we went downstairs. The two girls took their own sweet time getting numbers from the deity, making me lost interest in earning my lucky numbers too as I didn’t have much time to spare. It was already late at night and everyone was tired from earlier day trip. So we left the place.

Maybe I should drop by there again. ^^

A month ago, Sat came back and we went out celebrating his birthday on the day he born! Haha.

The day started out with him picking me out from my house and headed over to cinema to catch a movie. We don’t have the privilege of doing so daily or weekly like other couples since we’re in LDR so to watch movie on his birthday is not a norm. Lol. After that I forced Sat to drive all the way up to Batu Ferringhi, and only instructed him to search for parking lot when I saw the signboard since I don’t really know the place. I only read the review on the restaurant few days before and I forgot to get the GPS coordinates to punch in his iPhone like what he did to me on my birthday two years ago. Haha.

We were greeted upon walking in and were asked if we’ve made reservation (which I replied No) and again asked if we would prefer to sit inside or outside.

Since the day looked lovely (at 6 something in the afternoon), I chose the garden and were led to a table near the artificial waterfall. The waitress came back with menu and then left – giving us time to look at their menu. I flipped around, and couldn’t decide on what to order.

Sat then suggested to try their sets. Since the celebration is for his birthday, I let him decides. The waitress came back to us and Sat did all the ordering while I was busy snapping around with my Olympus miu! Hoho

The drinks came, followed by a soup. Check out my glass. Slanting one wei! Lol!

The waitress came to us with a plate of two cheese breads saying this was on the house. Sat looked grateful for the breads and I was thinking they gave us that maybe because we ordered one of the most expensive sets. Haha.

Then the main course came. The portion is BIG! Both of us looked at it and wondered if we could finish the whole meal.

A closer look at the scallops. Yums!

By the time we finished the whole dish, it was getting dark and the yellow warm lights were on, making the entire place even more romantic. Each and every table was lightened up by a small transparent lamp.

If you’re wondering where we went, this romantic restaurant is the Ferringhi Garden Restaurant.

Today’s my mum’s big day! We went out yesterday to have pre-birthday dinner at Victoria Station. We haven’t been there for quite some time (I think more than 6-7 years d) and since we always go there for special occasions in past, we thought why not VS?

When we reached the restaurant, we were greeted warmly – just like the olden days and were brought to our ‘usual’ seats in the train coaches. Normally we would opt for the train head, but that compartment was full that we have no choice but to sit at the other coach. Then the lady passed us menu. I noticed that they have changed the menu cover and also renamed their dishes – if I’m not mistaken.

They were playing oldies while made me sang along ‘quite’ loud. Even my parents were humming to the tunes. Haha.

The lady captain came and took our order. Then I realised she only gave one menu. When I asked her for another one since there are 6 of us – she gave me this reasoning : “Oh, we only give one drink menu per table.”

-.-”"”

So I said to her, “Since there aren’t much people taking order now, why not you give us another one?”

But she just repeated our order and then went off, giving us extra time to look at the drink menu. She then came back to get our order and soon the first dish came – Mexican Nachos.

Seriously, I regretted ordering this. Even Chillis’ nachos are nicer and the best thing is they’re REFILLABLE! But I didn’t expect much on the refilling part since VS supposed to be you know, fine dining restaurant.

Then one of the waiters came and put down 3 breads when they were 6 of us.

Feeling weird, mum highlighted this and we asked the lady captain about this. She hesitatingly replied, “Erm.. because you only order 3 main courses, that’s why there’s only 3 breads.”

Then dad asked her to give extra 3 breads.

She clarified that the extra breads will be charged; which dad nodded in acknowledgment.

I vaguely remembered about them giving us a bread each in the past, like what mum thought earlier. To sort of pacify everyone, I told mum “Because the economy merosot d, that’s why bread also give 3 only.” Then everyone laughed.

We didn’t wait long for the main dishes. Dad ordered something about the Mermaid and Dragon – which are actually the seafood platters. The moment the dishes were placed on the table, mum immediately took her fork and wanted to stab into the lobster; but I stopped her because I need to take pictures of the food. Which I took quite hastily as I was given only 1 second to snap. T_T

After that everyone poked in and were disappointed to know there weren’t much meat in it. And it wasn’t that fresh too. Compared to the one I had with Sat at the Ferringhi Garden Restaurant, this one lose kao kao. However, their fish fillet is good! Especially with the sauce over it. Yum yum!

I am the one suggested for the lamb cutlet, supported by my sis. I thought why not lamb since we couldn’t try steak – something what VS is famous for and that’s why I don’t really feel like going there since we couldn’t eat what the restaurant is famous for. However, they didn’t really enjoy eating it because of the ‘nerves’. I on the other hand, took one piece and savoured the meat in my mouth. Yums!

By the time we finished eating, we weren’t really exactly that full but we weren’t keen on ordering their desserts. Bro suggested for NZN ice-cream in Sunway Carnival Mall but it started to rain when we got into the car and Dad just went to MCD drive-thru to get us ice cream. What a way to end the celebration. Haha.

There you have – 2 different birthday celebrations for the 2 people who are equally important in my heart.

On the 8th day of CNY, my family and I decided to head over to Penang island for the Jade Emperor Day festival at Chew Jetty. Before that we went over to Kek Lok Si first, after being persuaded by our neighbour on how beautiful the temple is with all the lanterns lit up at night.

At about 11pm, we descended from Kek Lok Si and made our way to Chew Jetty. We passed by the Komtar Walk.

By the time we reached Chew Jetty, that place was already crowded and we couldn’t find proper place to park our car! Since everyone did illegal parking and the polizisten were nowhere to be seen, so yeah. Hehe.

We then walked to the main area since we parked quite far away and along the way we could hear firecrackers loudly and big thick smokes came over to blanket us.

We stopped for a while to let the firecracker explode and when it stopped, we scurried over to the other side after realising that the firecracker didn’t finish exploding yet! It was super duper long!

Finally we reached the main area. It was super duper packed with human beings! I didn’t know that Penang could host that much of people! Haha.

We tried squeezing our way to the temple in Chew Jetty; but halfway walking, we were asked to stop moving to give way to the lion dancers who were coming out from the temple.

Slowly we made our way in and we reached the main temple. Initially we wanted to pray, but seeing the amount of people standing there made us walked straight to the Chew Jetty.

It was so packed that one could easily feel the body heat and the sweaty skin of the strangers around you. But once got into the Chew Jetty, we no longer have to brush shoulder with strangers. It was a breezy walk then.

Along the way, I spotted a very cute looking doggy – who barked at strangers but stop when I was snapping its photo.

There’s another temple at the end of Chew Jetty – but this temple wasn’t that crowded. Didn’t know why. Hmm.

We then walked into this homestay kampung unit; and the place looks nice and comfy. I myself felt like sleeping in one of the rooms there.

Then we walked out of the Chew Jetty to see the Ti Kong Seh celebration. While walking out, we noticed this very very long firecrackers going around and coming out of the temple at the entrance of Chew Jetty. Very the ganas.

Worried that they might ignite the firecracker anytime soon, we quickly walk to considerably safe place.

I was absolutely shocked to see the amount of offerings on the very the long table at the back of the alters. The amount of lotus candles, fruits, kuihs, cakes, liquors, offerings papers, flowers, and many more!

Even though the economy was just about to start recovering from bad crisis, but the Penangites are very generous in offerings to please the Jade Emperor. Probably by doing so, the Jade Emperor would be happy and grant tonnes of wealth to the devotees. Money not enough mah. Haha.

My tummy began to feel hungry after looking at all those delicious offerings. But they were still praying at that time and didn’t even start burning the papers yet. Huuhuu.

At the end of the table was where the devotees kneed and prayed. I guess most of the brought their own joss sticks to pray – instead of buying from a booth as I didn’t see any booth selling joss sticks there.

I spotted lots DSLR users lo. All took opportunities to snap great pics there. Me on the other hand, keen to process the picture into the ‘stylo mylo’ picture. Lol.

The very very long firecracker finally exploded and the place looked hazy because of that.

Feeling tired and with nothing else to see there, we started walking back to our car. I walked past the alter and found 3 big bottles of Chivas among the many offerings on the table.

We left for home at about 1 something in the morning. The entire island was super hazy because of the fireworks and firecrackers from various part of the island. Ti Kong Seh (Jade Emperor’s Birthday) is the highly celebrated festival in Penang. Even more grander than the Chinese New Year itself.

I went on the hmm.. Can’t remember which day d – the 5th day if not mistaken. It was a sunny afternoon and I was practically sweating nonstop.

There were many people there; all decided to drop by Kek Lok Si during CNY because of the yellow and red lanterns hung all over the temple. Very nicely decorated. Hehe.

This was also when B decided to try tactics he read before long long time ago. He just never got the chance to try it (as he only wants me to be his guinea pig, huuhuu) so that’s part of the visit purposes. Haha.

I brought my DSLR along too; tho my main purpose to there was to pray. CNY must go temple pray pray for more ong-ness mah. ^^

Halfway walking, I felt a bit regretted for choosing to walk up to the Guan Yin Pavilion instead of driving up as the sun was scorching hot! and I think I got darker after that trip. -.-” The heat was killing us and my 500ml water bottle was definitely not enough!

We walked to the temple where many people would pray and spotted a wishing tree! No, it’s not a real tree but artificial ones where one can hung their wishes on the ‘tree’. I took one for me, and one for B – even tho I didn’t really know the exact meaning as it was written in Mandarin. But I know mine was for good career, and B’s for abundant luck! Hehe.

We wrote our names on the ribbons and then hung at the Wish Tree. I took a chair, stood up the chair and hung mine at one of the highest branches. Why? Because people say, “the higher you hung, the faster your wish will be granted” or something like that la. Haha.

Then we went up to the highest ’station‘ where the Guan Yin Pavilion is. This is where the sun is the brutal-est and I got my tanning here!

We spent like 30 minutes taking photographs there with many, many people staring at us. Lol. Then we walked to the Guan Yin Pavilion, to pai pai.

I’ve been to the highest level soon after the construction of the Guan Yin statue was done, but that time there was no roof/shelter. The Pavilion was only built like few years earlier – as you can see, there are still construction works going on at the side.

Seeing everyone giving alms around the Guan Yin statue, we decided to do so too. RM11 for 118 1-cent-coins.

Like usual, one must go around the statue clockwise. Sat gave half, I gave half.

On the night of 8th day of CNY, my family decided to go Kek Lok Si too after being influenced by our neighbours. So off we went together in 2 cars to the island at about 9pm.

I’ve never seen and been to Kek Lok Si at night before, so I was definitely at awed on seeing the building from afar.

We went all the way straight to the Guan Yin Pavilion. The place was pack with people! I even spotted my cousin bro with his gf there. Hehe.

I couldn’t stop looking at the statue. She looks different from the earlier day’s visit. She looks majestic!

and gold! I mean very golden in colour.

Not long after we went there, we were told to leave the place as they’re about to close for the day. So, I quickly took few more pictures and then walked back to the car with my family.

That’s all for my CNY’s Kek Lok Si trip. This post is more on the pictures than words. Having blockage in writing yet feel like posting something here. Haha! Have a good night sleep everyone.

For the first time, my aunt from Singapore decided to come back during Chinese New Year. It’s not that she never comes back before; she just chose not to during Chinese New Year because of the exorbitant flight ticket. She came back on the 7th day, just in time to lou sang with the rest of the family members!

So all of us were summoned to granny’s on 8th day of CNY.

That day was the eve of Hokkien New Year (Thni Kong Seh) celebration. Due to maternal granny’s first year of passing, we didn’t give prayer and offerings at home.

When we reached, we realised that my aunts were busy making ang ku kueh. I never seen the process before, quickly took out my camera and shoot! Keke.

I can’t recall what flour they used, probably some glutinous rice floor (I maybe wrong, never bother to check about it.. LOL), add red colouring, and water, little bit of oil, mixed them together. As for the filling, aunt used sweet potatoes; boiled, peeled and smashed. The skin (red dough) is flattened first, before wrapping the filling. Then it is placed into the wooden mould like the picture above.

Give it a little knock to get the shaped dough out and the end result would look like this.

My aunts made the process looked so easy; which I can’t say if it is as I didn’t participate. Would love to get my hand dirty on doing this, but I think I rather stand aside and watch – avoid screwing things up. Haha.

Next, the shaped dough is steamed for about 10 minutes? You see, when I didn’t involve in making the kueh, I don’t know the exact detail. Haha!

Yet somehow the shape looks not so attractive to me after being steamed. They look so puffed up, and the shape isn’t distinctive anymore. I prefer the uncooked kueh. Haha!

After the angkukueh were all steamed, it was time for lousang.

There is nothing much to shout about the yeesang. Typical method of lousang-ing, lou it as high as possible until it was all over the table. Haha.

Yearly tradition. 8 significant entrée. Eve of CNY. Aftermath : Bloated tummy.

This year I was abit late in listing down the recipes and going around looking for the ingredients. Didn’t know what stuff I got so busy with until almost neglected the most important Chinese culture. Lol.

I almost told my mum to just buy the ingredients for steamboat because I got ‘lazy’ just by thinking bout it! The agony of coming out with 8 entrée!

But then the tradition must go one – since it started by me. *sendiri cari pasal la* So, when the day came, I started chopping up the ingredients at 3.30pm as mum requested to eat earlier at 7pm.

Mum would drop by the kitchen, asking if I need her help. But thinking that I have plenty of time left, I told her that I’ll be fine on my own.

Little did I know, time really FLEW!

By 5.30pm, only 2 courses were done and I had to yell for my sister to help me in frying few things as I was busy preparing for the major dishes!

Bacon wrapped scallop

Sat came at 6pm – cause I told him too. And I thought of asking him to help up. But he dressed up so nicely and calling him to the dirty kitchen would mess him up.

So just me and my sister. She went on deep frying 2 dishes, and stir-fry the vege on my behalf while I frantically ran in and out the wet kitchen getting more and more ingredients, the correct plate; did wrapping, decorate dishes and food tasting.

Stir-fry mixed vege with love apple

Guinness stout spareribs

Firecracker prawn

By 7pm, the fish was put into wok for steaming and the plates were laid on the table, together with glass cups, chopsticks and spoons. Followed by the dishes soon after that.

Restaurant style steamed white pomfret

The dinner started half an hour later as I got carried away with the timing. However the highlight of the dinner was still in the oven by the time we started eating. LOL!

After 15 minutes into eating, I took out the chicken from the oven. This dish supposed to be double-steamed, but because mum gave away the steamer to her friends last time which I didn’t know about that (–”), we have to ‘bake’ the chicken.

Lotus wrapped 8 Treasure Baked Chicken

Thank god it turned out well despite the black burning of the lotus. *Phew

If you noticed there are only 6 photos available. That’s because I forgot to take picture of the dessert – which doesn’t really matter since it was half fail. Half fail because the tastewise was good, but lookwise it didn’t! Probably putting ice cream on top of the supposedly cake would make it nice! Haha!

As for another one, it supposed to be fruit salad – which I didn’t make because everyone couldn’t eat anymore at the end of the meal. We only took dessert 2 hours after dinner as we were too full!

Having been the ‘major chef’ on the CNY eve since 2006 continuously is seriously an honourific task. From choosing the right recipes (in order not to clash with superstition beliefs) to cooking the dish out and decorating them requires an enormous work and energy and time! But it’s all worthwhile. Afterall reunion dinner only occurs once a year, so no complains!

Maybe next year I should reduce to 5 entrée and 1 dessert. 6 (pronounced as lak in Hokkien) sounds like LUCK tho the Cantonese’s ‘fatt‘ (8) which means PROSPER! sounds even nicer! Haha

Well, we’ll see about that next year…

Less than a week to CNY! Whee!

As usual, I’ll be doing the cooking for the reunion dinner and this year I’m gonna do something unusual. Instead of eating rice like what we’ve did for fast erm.. 4-5 years, I’m gonna swap the rice for noodles!

Mum was abit tension when she heard bout me wanting to do noodles cz she knew I never cook that type of noodles before. So, she asked me to do a trial today. I agreed as we’ve been eating out for weeks and I’m quite free recently. Kaka!

Once I got home, mum already asked me to start cooking which I deemed it was rather early. Nonetheless, I obeyed her – taking my own time taking out the ingredients, cutting them up, marinade the meat. Reason : I knew I can cook this up in within 15 minutes.

Ingredients for my stir-fry egg noodles – broccoli, garlic, crabsticks, chicken (which I’ve marinated) and egg noodles.

Boiled the noodles, ran over cold water and clotted with extra virgin olive oil since the noodles will become sticky if dry.

Mum walked into the kitchen, wondering why I didn’t start cooking yet. So, I began throwing in the rest of the ingredients and stir fried them together. The noodles was abit dry after being thrown into the wok, signaling it’s time to put in a cup of water to ‘wet‘ them up.

After few round of tasting, the noodles has done and ready to be served!

It tastes nice when served hot, but not-so-nice-anymore when it is left to cold.

This dish has passed the family’s SIRIM test. So, this Saturday gonna make exactly like this but in smaller portion as I fear we couldn’t finish all 8 dishes. Keke.

Behold, this post contains non-halal! Lol!

Taiping trip is being close to nature – hence, a visit at this Indian temple, Om Sakthi Sri Jada Muneesvarar Alayam.

Well the main reason why we visit this temple is to see and touch wild boars!

Touching a wild boar might be disgusting to you, but believe me there’s a VERY BIG REASON why people are touching and feeding them.

Plus, have you seen wild boars eating nasi lemak? @.@

There the wild boars are known as ‘lucky boars’. It’s said that by touching the boars with hand, one might strike lottery! That’s why people as far as Singapore come all the way to this temple to touch it.

While the boars are busy munching on their nasi lemak, I took the opportunity to touch one of the wild boar. Their skin is seriously HARD! I think normal pig’s skin also nicer. Haha!

Here’s the famous 3-legged wild boar. The caretaker told us that this boar and another two ‘friends’ of his are the luckier boars.

Seeing the 3 legged wild boar fulled of mud, I was reluctant to touch initially. But out of curiosity, I did. I was dying to know what’s the difference between touching a mud-less wild boar and a muddy wild boar.

Difference are :

1. The fur is THICKER.

2. The wet feeling is there.

As the sky grew darker, the number of wild boars increased. Probably the dark sky means ‘dinner time’ to them. Lol.

We left not long after that since the tummy was growling. Took dinner at one of the food court in Taiping and off we went to the Taiping Night Safari. Entrance fee is RM16 for adult and RM10 for children under 12.

The moment we walked in there was a guy asking if we wanna take the tram or walk on our own. Since it was ages since we were to the Taiping Night Safari, we decided to take the tram first to know generally what animals they have there and then walk on our own.

Little that we know that we would end up sitting on the tram for 3 times! -.-”

The Taiping Night Safari is smaller if you wanna compare to the one in Singapore. Hey, smaller doesn’t mean it’s bad. Going to night safari and see all the nocturnal coming out at night is really amazing. But…

There’s a BIG BUT here.

I wished the night safari is more lighted especially on the pathway. I understand that night safari should be have as minimal light as possible but at least put led/low light lamps on the pathway to guide people on walking. Some trails are so dark that if a snake or tiger were to lurk there, we might end up being their supper even though some of the ‘no-light-trail’ is barely 100m long. Who knows right?

After getting down from the tram (for the first time), my parents decided to forgo the plan of walking around the night safari. Plus we weren’t given map on the area – we might end up being lost in the safari! Lol!

Aih, my hope of snapping the ‘wild’ animals dashed totally.

We saw many people walked straight to the exit after getting down from the tram. I was thinking – paying RM16 for a 15-20 minutes ride around the safari isn’t worth it at all. Plus it’s hard to scan and see the animals in dark. So I suggested, “why not another round of tram ride?”

Everyone agreed and we queued for 2nd round. The queue wasn’t that long as compared to the first one where we had to wait for good ol’ 30 minutes for the ride. -.-”

10 minutes later, we gotten ourselves on tram for 2nd time and this time we looked at the animals that we couldn’t spot in the first ride. The 2nd tram driver is good as he stopped longer to let us find the animal that he mentioned. Unlike the first driver where he did ‘touch-n-go‘ at each section. Tsk tsk.

We enjoyed our 2nd ride and when we got off the exit point again, we went to queue for the 3rd time – just for the sake of making our ticket worthy. Haha!

So for the 3rd time, we just enjoying the breeze and serenity of the animal kingdom. It was getting late and the sound of crickets getting louder.

And at this round, I spotted a malnourished camel. It is so skinny that I could the ribs on its body. Instead of the normal standing posture that camel has, this camel’s 4 legs caved in, like alphabet V. And it was crying. Or ‘talking’ in its language – that I don’t know. Haha.

We started to feel tired and weary after the 3rd round. So, we headed home. It was definitely interesting as we get to see places rather than stuck at home. Haha!

- Did I mention that I roared at the sleeping lion, just to wake the lion up? And the lion ignored me. T.T -
