I’ve been Japanified!
The reason was that I was ‘feeding’ on Japanese food for 3 consecutive days – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. And on Sunday – we made sushi for lunch. Lol!
Woke up at 9 something in the morning and after bathing, I went down to find my parents sitting at the garden. I went to the kitchen; looked around and noticed that nobody done anything yet! I went to mum and asked if we’re gonna make sushi since nothing was done. Then mum said, “wait for you what. Why wake up so late?”

Flabbergasted, I quickly went to the kitchen and started cutting up the ingredients for the sushi, while mum prepared the rice. B came after the rice was cooked, and jokingly told me, “not ready yet one horr… thought can eat d..”
While my bro keeping B busy by playing SA, we started doing the fun part – putting the rice, cucumber and carrot sticks, crabsticks/avacado/unagi on top of a seaweed sheet; rolled them up using the sushi-making-bamboo-mat; and finally cut them into pieces like the picture below!

We then did the other type of sushi – where we moulded rice into ‘rectangular’ shape before putting the ingredients like unagi/salmon/fish roe on top. Because the fish meat is bigger than the moulded rice, so I used the seaweed strips to secure them.

Wondering why some of the salmon looked pinkish, some orange-ish? I grilled salmon as the salmon my parents bought it a day earlier. Some was fully-cooked to accommating my mum’s need (she doesn’t eat raw) and the rest half-cooked by heated them for 1-2 seconds.

We finished making the sushi by 2pm – if not mistaken. So our sushi lunch began late at 2 and by 3pm, everyone was bloated despite knowing that there were 2 tupperwares full of sushi on the table.
I think I’ve enough of Japanese food and I shall refrain myself from sushi for at least 3 weeks. Hahaha!
gosh.. still got sushi in the fridge!
