All these while, I wouldn’t have look nor think about going for a cruise as I thought that such cruise is for the rich only, as one needs to pay at least RM2,000 for a 3D2N cruise. It’s normal not to think about boarding one after having such mindset, especially at this age.
Well, I’m 40, rich and successful then obviously I would be looking at the cruise catalogues. Information. Destination. Get what I mean?
Somehow, dream does come true. Or should I say Starcruises.com made my dream came true.
Starting from February 13th until June 30th, one can experience a-night-cruise on Star Cruise Pisces for as low as RM60!
Upon hearing that, I quickly did a research on this to avoid any disappointment. True enough, it just costs RM60 but that’s the standing pax (means no room given) price on Sunday–Thursday.
Then discussions started and then decided to go on Friday after work. Fearing that we might feel tired after that, we took the cheapest cabin – the ‘inside stateroom’ for RM120. After adding in the handling fee of RM30, the whole package costs RM150.
If you’re wondering when I boarded the ship, it was 2 weeks ago.

On that day, I left work at 5.15pm and vroomed all the way toward the Jetty. We parked our car at the ‘for-cruise-only’ car park for RM7 and then walked towards the Swettenham Pier for checking in process. After getting our cruise cards (which serves as room access key, credit card on board and meal card), we walked in to the ‘immigration counter’ where the guys in yellow took our ICs/passports for safekeeping. Don’t worry, they’ll give us back at the end of the voyage.
It’s been 10 months of emotional turbulence; but everything was paid off when I finally stepped my foot at the Penang International Airport on the night of 12th January 2010.
Together with me were Sat, Ailing, Emily, Elise and Lasker.
Our flight for KUL scheduled to fly off at 10.45pm was delayed an hour. But we weren’t bothered with the delay, for we have the whole night to kill. Everyone was pretty excited, tho some of us were dead tired due to rushing to airport from work. We sat at the tables of closed cafe, chatting about the baby being stuffed into the toilet bowl and Facebooking while waiting for the announcement for embarkation to be made.
At 11.50pm, we were allowed to board and most of them directly dozed off once the plane took off. Despite being so tired, I can’t catch a wink! So did Sat. Both of us were just chatting, giggling and taking pictures (of those who slept). Kaka!

Out of the blue, I felt hungry!
The plane reached LCCT at 12 something. We went around the terminal, finding place to sit and nap, but all seats were occupied! Mardeh betui. So, we cured our hunger by having supper at Old Town LCCT first – hoping there would be seats available after that.

Happy Chap Goh everyone!!!
Today is the final day of Lunar New Year! Signifies the end of relaxation and celebration and glutton.
Beginning of work, work and work.
Wuuwuu
Thank god for JULY! Keke!
Now, anyone throwing mandarin oranges tonight? I plan to throw a dozen, aiming at my B’s head! Muahahaha! Damn evil right me? But too bad he’s not in Penang. Oh well, gonna wait til next year only can do so. Keke!
Still in CNY mood, but need to start with something to ‘hardworking’ myself! So, I start by blogging! Start with something lighter – like an appetizer, I chose to blog about Thaipusam first, rather than going straight to heavier post like Cambodia. I always wanted to join the colourful Thaipusam parade, but there were nobody to go with. Once I had the chance to attend during my secondary school year, but at the end didn’t make it. -.-”
This year, the opportunity came. As excited as I were, I was sleepy too – as the initial plan was to go there at 2 in the morning to avoid human traffic.
But it got delayed 2 hours. Lol.
It was still pitched black when we reached there. It wasn’t as body-sticking-jam as I expected. It was a breezy walk with colourful, lightened tents of gigantic pictures/statues of Hindu deities put up by companies on both sides of the Jalan Air Terjun (Waterfall Road).

Before reaching the main temple, we stopped by a temple on the right side of the road. We took off shoes and then joined the queue coming from the side of the temple. I did wonder why didn’t we walk straight in to the main altar of the temple to pray first, but if everyone prays to the small temple first, then why should I do the opposite? Lol.
Nervously, I asked B “what should I do?” as we were nearing the temple. He answered, “observe. See how they walk and what they do.“
Fearing that I might do mistake, he told me that every steps to the temple will usually odd number.
“Begin with right leg and you’ll end up with right leg too when you reach the top. Also, use your right hand to take thing. Never use leg hand as it signifies bad luck.”
