Deliciously Me

A month ago, Sat came back and we went out celebrating his birthday on the day he born! Haha.

The day started out with him picking me out from my house and headed over to cinema to catch a movie. We don’t have the privilege of doing so daily or weekly like other couples since we’re in LDR so to watch movie on his birthday is not a norm. Lol. After that I forced Sat to drive all the way up to Batu Ferringhi, and only instructed him to search for parking lot when I saw the signboard since I don’t really know the place. I only read the review on the restaurant few days before and I forgot to get the GPS coordinates to punch in his iPhone like what he did to me on my birthday two years ago. Haha.

We were greeted upon walking in and were asked if we’ve made reservation (which I replied No) and again asked if we would prefer to sit inside or outside.

Since the day looked lovely (at 6 something in the afternoon), I chose the garden and were led to a table near the artificial waterfall. The waitress came back with menu and then left – giving us time to look at their menu. I flipped around, and couldn’t decide on what to order.

Sat then suggested to try their sets. Since the celebration is for his birthday, I let him decides. The waitress came back to us and Sat did all the ordering while I was busy snapping around with my Olympus miu! Hoho

Kek Lok Si in day and night

Posted Monday, April 12th, 2010

Last CNY, I went to Kek Lok Si twice! Once in the day, once at night!

I went on the hmm.. Can’t remember which day d – the 5th day if not mistaken. It was a sunny afternoon and I was practically sweating nonstop.

There were many people there; all decided to drop by Kek Lok Si during CNY because of the yellow and red lanterns hung all over the temple. Very nicely decorated. Hehe.

This was also when B decided to try tactics he read before long long time ago. He just never got the chance to try it (as he only wants me to be his guinea pig, huuhuu) so that’s part of the visit purposes. Haha.

The next activity in the Lounge was line-dancing. I thought of participating, but Sat was more eager to enter the casino. He thought that line dancing on Star Cruise Pisces is a waste of time.

So I asked him, what’s not waste of time then?

He grinned and said, C A S I N O!

We went down and were stopped by the security guy at the entrance because Sat looked young. I was like, what?!!!

Sat had to show him his driver licence where he pointed to his IC number as proof that he’s over 21.

There’s nothing much to say about the casino… just the usual tai sai, jackpot machines, roulette, player banker.. so I skipped that part. Kaka.

Feeling sien after lingering in the casino,we went around, exploring again.

Bingo-ing our way to RM18,888!

Posted Thursday, March 25th, 2010

The Star Cruise Pisces leaved the Penang famous Swettenham Port at 8.30 pm. We were supposed to go up at Deck 11 to see the ship moving away, but we were at the Mariners having our dinner. We only remembered about it when we FELT the ship moved. Haha.

By 8.45 pm, we decided to make a move and walked out of the Mariners. Unsure on what to do next, we asked the ladies at the reception counter on the activities available on board. Then she pointed me to the itinerary pinned at the public board next to the lifts.

Ah, we weren’t observant at all.  Haha. We checked out the itinerary and found that there’s a live band playing at the Lounge of the Galaxy of The Stars. With nothing to do, we decided to do a little exploration. From the reception counter at Deck 7, we walked straight to the Blue Lagoon and reached the entrance of casino, where they call it Club Royale.

Sat was super eager to check out the casino, while I was more to explore the ship! Thankfully the casino door isn’t open until 9-9.30 (can’t recall) so we went up a deck to Deck 8 and found ourselves to be coming up to the entrance of the Galaxy of The Stars. There were 2 big groups of people standing at the counters located on both sides of the entrance. We walked past the counter and took a peek into the Lounge. The place was full of people, quite happening place to be.

But we walked out.

Curiously, we were wondering what caused the people to surround the counter; we walked up to one of the counters and asked, “What’s this?

The male crew answered – “Oh, we’re selling the Bingo strips. Do you want to buy some? One strip costs RM4, half of the page consists of 3 strips costs RM12! Come try and win yourself a Jackpot worth RM18,888!

As we never play the real Bingo before – except for the square boxes that consists of 25 numbers we used to play during secondary school, we asked them on the method of playing.

“Easy! One strip consists of 15 numbers. When the machine randomly calls out a number and that number is in the strip, u cross that number. Once you’ve crossed all 15 numbers, then you have to stand up and shout BINGO!”

“That sounds fun” – we said, “but how many times will the machine calls?”

All these while, I wouldn’t have look nor think about going for a cruise as I thought that such cruise is for the rich only, as one needs to pay at least RM2,000 for a 3D2N cruise. It’s normal not to think about boarding one after having such mindset, especially at this age.

Well, I’m 40, rich and successful then obviously I would be looking at the cruise catalogues. Information. Destination. Get what I mean?

Somehow, dream does come true. Or should I say Starcruises.com made my dream came true.

Starting from February 13th until June 30th, one can experience a-night-cruise on Star Cruise Pisces for as low as RM60!

Upon hearing that, I quickly did a research on this to avoid any disappointment. True enough, it just costs RM60 but that’s the standing pax (means no room given) price on Sunday–Thursday.

Then discussions started and then decided to go on Friday after work. Fearing that we might feel tired after that, we took the cheapest cabin – the ‘inside stateroom’ for RM120. After adding in the handling fee of RM30, the whole package costs RM150.

If you’re wondering when I boarded the ship, it was 2 weeks ago. :P

On that day, I left work at 5.15pm and vroomed all the way toward the Jetty. We parked our car at the ‘for-cruise-only’ car park for RM7 and then walked towards the Swettenham Pier for checking in process. After getting our cruise cards (which serves as room access key, credit card on board and meal card), we walked in to the ‘immigration counter’ where the guys in yellow took our ICs/passports for safekeeping. Don’t worry, they’ll give us back at the end of the voyage.
